Satyendra Nath Bose (Bengali: সত্যেন্দ্ৰনাথ বসু), born 1 January 1894 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India, was an Indian physicist and mathematician — collaborated with Albert Einstein on Bose-Einstein statistics (1924), describing a class of particles now called bosons in his honor. Padma Vibhushan (1954). He died 4 February 1974 at age 80.
