Mira Murati, born 16 December 1988 in Vlorë, Albania, was the Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI from 2022 to September 2024 — the executive responsible for the public launches of ChatGPT (November 2022), GPT-4 (March 2023), and DALL-E. She founded her own AI lab, Thinking Machines Lab, in February 2025.
