Rekha Gupta, recently appointed as the Chief Minister of Delhi, has deep family roots in Haryana. Born in 1974 in Nandgarh village, Julana town, Jind district, her family moved to Delhi in 1976 when her father, Jai Bhagwan Jindal, took up a role as branch manager at the State Bank of India in Pitampura. Her mother, Urmila Jindal, was a homemaker.
In 1998, Rekha married Manish Gupta, an industrialist specializing in brass components. The couple has two children—a son pursuing higher education and a daughter actively involved in the family business.
Rekha's political journey began at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, where she joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in 1992. She rose through the ranks, serving as general secretary of the Delhi University Students' Union in 1995 and later as its president in 1996. Her dedication and leadership have now led her to become Delhi's fourth female Chief Minister.
